An elderly woman named Tahiron Nessa, aged 65, died from a suspected snake bite in Dhamrai’s Kacha Rajapur village.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning while she was preparing ginger and garlic for her granddaughter’s wedding.

She was bitten by a snake, believed to be a Russell’s Viper, from a nearby bush. She died on the way to the hospital. Local UP Chairman Arif Hossain confirmed the snake bite but the exact species was not verified.

The death has caused panic among residents regarding Russell’s Viper presence in the area.
