Iron Cages Removed from Dhaka Courtrooms as Part of Human Rights Reforms
In a significant move towards upholding human rights, Dhaka courtrooms have started removing iron cages used to hold defendants during trials.
This action follows a High Court ruling responding to a petition filed by ten Supreme Court lawyers, arguing that the cages were inhumane and violated constitutional rights.
The removal process began on August 16, with officials stating that all courtrooms will soon be free of these cages. This change is seen as a step toward a more humane justice system in Bangladesh.
